Candidates of LDS part 2 sitting

How to prepare for part 2 exam

1

Freshen your knowledge by reading a short text book like  ‘Churchill pocket book of clinical dentistry’

2

Read PAST TEST BOOKS - OSCEs by Kathleen Fan - this is a must do for the exam

3

Read all guidelines related to safeguarding, cross infection control, law and ethics, record keeping, oral cancer awareness and oral hygiene instructions - our library session is updated with valuable resources

4

If this is your first sitting, it’s highly recommended that you attend ‘Intro to part 2’ course where the structure of the exam will be explained in details as well the resources to focus on

5

The exam structure and marking follow 4 domains - communication being one of them and a major one then it’s recommended you attend a communications course

6

Another useful subject is ‘pain’ as it covers the majority of complaints. This is a topic that must be prepared properly

7

Medical emergencies is a very important component of OSCEs please study the updated resource from Resus Guidelines

8

Attend  our multiple OSCE training sessions and unseen cases to have a practical understanding of how the exam runs

9

Attend a mock OSCE circuit

10

Attend a mock UNSEEN case exam

11

Focus on what’s important and keep yourself up to date with the recent guidelines

12

Believe in yourself and hope for the best!
